Rebecca is skilled at organizing and running the business aspect of the digital world. She has a wealth of experience planning and executing campaigns for social media. 

L Train brass band

Rebecca is the Marketing Director of the L Train Brass Band, a non-profit music organization with more than 100 members in Brooklyn, NY. She is responsible for the running and maintenance of the organization’s public and social media presence, including managing the Facebook and Instagram pages. In addition, she helps update and maintain the internal photo achieves, creates original video content, and assists with recruiting for the organization.

Rebecca works closely with clients and partnerships, creating posting schedules and content to promote sponsored events. She has also led several internal initiatives, helps to plan major organizational events, and develops content strategy.

Task & Purpose

Rebecca assisted in creating viral content for the Task & Purpose social channels, including owning the content on TikTok, where she edited and produced viral content that reached over 3 million collective views. By paying close attention to trends, she was able to aid the Social Media Manager in creating content that appeals to an active online audience.

She has also created many assets for the other social channels, including meme content and several branded AR Instagram filters.

College band radio

Rebecca ran and operated the social media channels for the marching band podcast College Band Radio until the show’s conclusion in 2023. College Band Radio is a former partner of Collegemarching, the leader in marching band news, in addition to having been sponsored by Flipfolder app and DeMoulin Uniforms. At College Band Radio, Rebecca utilized social media to stay on top of trends, respond to and interact with band programs, and promote the podcast through clever interactions and posts. Rebecca worked hard to keep the College Band Radio Twitter and Instagram active daily, even between seasons of the podcast itself, running polls and other interactive activities to keep followers engaged. Both the Twitter and the Instagram saw significant follower growth, gaining over double their following since Rebecca started with the brand.

Bluecoats

While working with the Bluecoats, Rebecca created many social videos for the drum corps’ verified Instagram and Twitter accounts. These videos amassed a collective view count of over 100,000 views on Instagram alone.

UConn Marching Band

As the head of the UConn Marching Band Media Team from 2017 to 2019, Rebecca worked to plan all operations of the team, including uploading all YouTube videos, managing the Google AdSense and Analytics accounts for the band’s YouTube channel, as well as overseeing all social media postings for the Division 1 Marching Band. Rebecca often met with the directors of the band to coordinate different projects as well as delegate work to the other members of the team.

Additionally, she worked closely with the band directors and independently to create many new social media campaigns, including spotlighting members of the band who participate in Drum Corps International, collaborating with Collegemarching.com, and making special video content for the Senior Game and Senior Sendoff.  Rebecca also worked to make the UConn Band as cutting edge as possible, working to keep social media accounts like the band’s Twitter active year-round. Rebecca also worked to make the band more visible publicly, as well releasing the band’s fight song onto all major music platforms.

Agency x

Agency X is a small group of top UConn Digital Media and Design students who are hand-picked to act as the internal marketing arm of the department. The group not only runs all of the Digital Media and Design social media accounts, but also plans and executes all of the events that take place within the department. Rebecca was asked to join the 10 person team as one of 2 juniors, and continued to serve on the team for three semesters, sharing a record for longest time spent on the team.

As a member of Agency X, Rebecca worked on many projects from the business side. In her third semester, she was chosen as the Head of Recruitment. In this role, she planned and organized the entirety of Accepted Students Day in 2019, originating the idea for a passport-driven stations setup. Rebecca also created a brand new program within the department, the Freshmen Mentorship Program, which she organized and planned. In addition, Rebecca created a great deal of video content for the department’s social channels.
